Just Wanting to Share

The other day, NPR introduced me to this. I was instantly fascinated; I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

LBD

As you may well know, wedding season is quickly approaching. Starting the day after finals, approximately 2 trillion people will be tying the knot. And me? Well, I love a good wedding.

In honor of all these celebrations, I decided a new little black dress (LBD) was in order. Black suits me better than white. And so it was that my dear friend Miss Ado and I embarked on our mission. Where did we go? The only place to go. . .

The Mecca of all true shoppers. It was a dream, to say the least. One step through those doors and I knew I was somewhere magical. I don't usually feel this way when I enter large, over priced department stores during the Christmas Season. It could have simply been my time away from Nordies that made me feel this way. You see, the old down-town location has been closed and won't reopen until 2012, as Ado explained, "just in time for the world to end." Whatever the reason, there was something about this particular store on this particular day. It was the "quietness and the proud look of it," and I understood that "nothing very bad could happen to you there." (Thank you, Holly Golightly).

To top it off, I found my new LBD. If I were being honest I would tell you that it was actually my first little black dress, but then you might wonder about my wardrobe and my womanhood. I mean, even Wikipedia knows the LBD "is considered essential to a complete wardrobe."

Now, if I could only find the perfect shoes. . .
