Just Wanting to Share
The other day, NPR introduced me to this. I was instantly fascinated; I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

LBD
As you may well know, wedding season is quickly approaching. Starting the day after finals, approximately 2 trillion people will be tying the knot. And me? Well, I love a good wedding.
In honor of all these celebrations, I decided a new little black dress (LBD) was in order. Black suits me better than white. And so it was that my dear friend Miss Ado and I embarked on our mission. Where did we go? The only place to go. . .
The Mecca of all true shoppers. It was a dream, to say the least. One step through those doors and I knew I was somewhere magical. I don't usually feel this way when I enter large, over priced department stores during the Christmas Season. It could have simply been my time away from Nordies that made me feel this way. You see, the old down-town location has been closed and won't reopen until 2012, as Ado explained, "just in time for the world to end." Whatever the reason, there was something about this particular store on this particular day. It was the "quietness and the proud look of it," and I understood that "nothing very bad could happen to you there." (Thank you, Holly Golightly).
To top it off, I found my new LBD. If I were being honest I would tell you that it was actually my first little black dress, but then you might wonder about my wardrobe and my womanhood. I mean, even Wikipedia knows the LBD "is considered essential to a complete wardrobe."

Now, if I could only find the perfect shoes. . .

First Kiss Post
I've been wanting to post something on my blog for sometime now. Something not for my silly computer class. But there is something about a first post. It's like a first kiss. You want it to be perfect, to mean something, so you put it off. and off. and off. Until one day, you just do it. You kiss someone in the elevator at the mall; it isn't perfect and (now lets be honest) it doesn't mean all that much.
So here it is. My first kiss blog post. It just kind of happened in the ten minutes I had. It isn't perfect, and it doesn't mean much. Maybe I just need to do it so I'm less scared in the future. Build character and all that. Lets just consider it my initiation into the blog world.
But, if it is like kissing.... at least we can expect that I'll be good at it.
XOXO XXXX

Katie the Rockin' Digital Native
I, as a Digital Native, would have to agree almost 100 percent to the article "Digital Natives." I have seen my parent suffer trying to use anything on the computer, while for my siblings and I it all comes really naturally. My dad especially. As an architect, he still works in the stone-age. He draws everything by hand, and other people, who are always younger than him, have to transfer his drawings to the computer.
I have also noticed how bored I get in some classrooms. If a class moves at a snails pace, I tune out really fast. However, some classes have a little too much stimulation for me, and than it is hard to pay attention, too.
I hope that as a teacher I can reach the students that I will be teaching. This is why it is super important for future teachers to always stay up to date on technology. Hopefully, this gap between natives and immigrant to the digital age will close and not just continue with the next generation.
As for me, I'm pretty pumped about my super sweet, ultra high tech new age brain... that requires a computer to spell.
